Deeds

Sihing Jon Robinson

I was at Safeway and standing in line as per usual. I looked behind me and saw an old lady with a cart full of stuff. For some reason, I turned to her and offered to help her unload her food onto the till's conveyer belt. She was very happy for the help and we started talking for the rest of the time we waited in line. It got me thinking on how we treat other people daily. often, walking down the street or in the store, people avoid eye contact with everyone else and just hurry through their tasks so they can get back to what they'd rather be doing. this really cuts down the connection between people and leaves us with a rather cold interpersonal experience with most people. Just by doing our little good deeds, we can spark up conversations, share a few kind words or just make eye contact with someone in a positive light and the world or community we live in becomes that much warmer.

  1. What a sweet kind thing to do and you probably made her day/week/month. It is amazing that when we give a bit, a river comes back.
