"Spring Treasures"

Our walks have turned into more than physical exercise and the opportunity for
meditation and mental clarification. This mornings 4.0km walk brought forward a
few treasures that seem to reappear day after day.
The spring melt brings on the
disrespect that many have towards the environment and to this land which many of
us are proud to call our home.
During most of our walks I find it
difficult to find the inner peace and tranquility that I search for. The positive to these walks is the environment we leave behind ourselves, for the
next few people to enjoy. If its about awareness....well at least my family is
seeing the before and after and hopefully it is opening the eyes of the people
that we walk past or that drive past us, when our hands are full of
litter.
I hate to say that I have found my niche....I don't want to be a
garbage picker! I seem to be doing it every day we go for a walk.... which is
every day. Why does it have to be this way?
I guess if my focus in life was to always leave a clean pathway behind myself and a positive influence; that would be the way I'd like to be remembered.

  2. Hmmm don't want to be a garbage picker even though picking up that garbage is being kind and caring to the Earth. I encourage to look beyond the "garbage" because you will find all of a sudden a real treasure when you least expect it. Aside from hubcaps, I have found money, screwdrivers, storage containers, and a 3 foot long prybar among other things and consider these gifts as thank yous.
