To inspire others you must first be inspired. It is the same with approaching something with passion.
You must first have that passion in order to impart that passion unto
others. I have been bringing Romeo my dog in to the kwoon recently in
order to change the rhetoric in which I approach the Pandamonioum. In
the past I would simply explain the Pandamonium the same way it was
explained to me and there would be little passion or emotional
connection to the words I was using. I would then wounder why there was
little to no support given by the students to raising funds for the
charities an no real growth experienced by them when it comes to terms
of their empathy training. In the process of bringing Romeo around and
talking about his story I have found my own passion in the event and so I
am experiencing the growth of the passion that allows me to impart
passion unto others. I find that mere words are never enough in order to
impart passion from one person to another. It takes an experience to
impact a persons state of mind when it come to gaining passion about
anything. So in the end I have learned a lot about passion and empathy
so far during the talks I give about Romeo and the other charities.I
think I have truly learned what it is all about. Not raising funds to
support causes, not bothering friends and coworkers about the
Pandamonioum. It is about experiencing that passion and empathy because
without that experience you will have a difficult time positively
impacting people and the world around you. Making that passionate,
empathetic, and positive change in your immediate world and the world at
large is what the martial arts is all about. That is something that is
easily forgotten when we gather and watch a UFC title fight or get
caught up in our own personal egos.
