Today is the start of 2014. In true Silent River style I began the year off with 1000 pushups and sit-ups. I agree with Sifu Brinker that it is a great way to start the new year and sets the tone for the coming months. It is a lot of work though.
Last night while visiting with family this topic came up. They couldn't believe I'd do 1000 pushups and situps in one day. It was unfathomable to them. Not only did they think it couldn't be done, but they had no idea why I would want to do so. The conversation reminded me about how far I've come and how much I've changed. At one point in time I would have had my doubts about doing 1000, but now I know it's all a matter of hard work and discipline. And every time I do it it gets a little easier. Ok not really, but that's what I like to tell myself.

Acts of kindness: gave the cat and dog treats, made tea, complimented someone, played with Julia
Today I consumed: a breakfast sandwich and hash brown, some noodles with toast, an apple and some chinese food and some skittles. I drank a cup of coffee, 2 cups of tea and 10 glasses of water.
