Before I left on holidays, Sihing Csillag brought a couple of boards
to class to see if anyone wanted to try and break the real thing. I did
with my front thrust kick and I was unsuccessful at breaking the board.
Even though I didn't break the board, I gained a boatload of insight as
to what I was doing so that I could improve. This is what I gained:
- I was leaning back instead of my chi going forward and powering through
- I was so concerned about having a high crane stance that I was lifting my center
- I was too close to my target
I
didn't take my un-success as failure, but as data collection on what to
practice on, which to me, makes practicing much more worthwhile. Thanks
to Sihing Csillag for providing this great learning opportunity.
